I climbed up the 13 floors of the TCS Pioneer building.

Not once, not twice. But thrice.
Once during lunch.
Once during tea.
And once after everybody had gone home, just to see if I could do it alone.

Felt like my legs were dissolving under me. Must have been the lactic acid.

A bomb went off in Pune yesterday. People died, and I find V-day a bigger issue. Inconsiderate, cold-hearted jackass, I self-admonish.

So, a recap on last year. There were many hits, many misses, and I’m wiser and stronger than I was last year. I’m also convinced I’ve not grown up all that much. Probably never will.

Pictures are cooler looking than words. So, instead of winding you up with a long-winded monologue, I thought this would explain what happened last year more appropriately.

In case you're wondering what's on that CD, it isn't the Akon and the Chipmunks album 'Lonely'. It really really isn't.

Valentines Day is probably a strong reminder to re-think your approach to relationships, try gain some clarity on what it means to be single/engaged/married/swinging and yourself.

Either way, make the most of it. It’s just another day. Except it comes with candy hearts and greeting cards.

Update: A friend of mine got married two days before V-day. Congratulations to her.

Also, I think I’ve been taking too much advice from Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta:

I really like that song. Is it fashionable to dislike her music?

Maybe it’s those da-du-doo-ummm beats that get me each time.

My Side Of The Story: In Bubblegum Pink

It’s been quite a week. I managed to stay at Bidadi for nearly a whole week without spiriting (no, not sprinting) back home. Yesterday I had to come home and learn a bit of SQL. And it proved to be well worth it. I learnt quite a bit (something about SQL JOINs being really cool as opposed to SELECTs from multiple tables,) and stayed up quite late into the night in the process (4:30 AM). I had to be up by 6:00 to leave for Bidadi before the city woke up. I woke up at 7 AM and found myself disJOINted and groggier than ever. And this continued through the day.

Could hardly connect with Objects today in class. Wasn’t I certified for being able to do a little bit of that? Planning to finsh that up during the weekend. Also somebody’s going to be a lot poorer this weekend. And I know it’s going to be me. Goodbyes will be said, people will break bread, and talk of the dead, all to mark the end of another era and the beginning of something new.

And yes, this week also marked the twenty-second incident of the earth going around the sun since when I was considered existent enough to be called ‘cute’.

Of course, a lot has changed now.

I’ve always held silly contrarian views on birthdays. I’m beginning to like them now.

Took this on the my very first day at work. We had just come out the building where we’re being trained, and I just had to take a picture of something to remember the occasion by.

The sun seems to be current favourite subject of my photographs anyway.

It's Another Tequila Sunrise

Took this from the balcony of our hotel room in Pondicherry in December of last year.

We stayed at the Aurobindo Ashram Guest house.

Call us lucky to have snagged this room.

The discussion was centered around a joke:

“If electrcity comes from electrons, then doesn’t morality come from morons.”

My response:

If current is taken to move in a direction conventionally opposite to the direction of motion of electrons, you can apply the same analogy to the motion of morons, to deduce that morons moving away from morality leads to moronism.

So, it is the direction you choose to take, and not the effect of a label you have been tagged with.

It’s not about being a moron. It’s about taking the same direction as another moron moving away from morality that makes you a moron.

Ah, wordplay sucks.

Think I wasn’t really making a point there? Neither did I.
